Scott Booth
I have just finished my BA Honours degree in English Literature with Creative Writing, gaining a 2:1 (including a First Class dissertation). I have not been able to achieve much work experience due to the location that I live in, as most of the hive of media activity goes on in London or Manchester. However, I have completed a brief work experience stint at the local Plymouth based newspaper, The Evening Herald.
I have studied journalism as part of the Creative Writing aspect of my course and was taught by John Hitchings, who was a journalist at The Sun newspaper for over 20 years and who also wrote scripts for the BBC Nine O'Clock News. During my time with John I learnt a lot about how articles should be presented and a managed to conduct my first face to face interview with the Olympic weightlifter, Michaela Breeze.
In my spare time I love to write poetry and am a volunteer for the Royal National Institute for the Blind, where I read books onto tape for visually impaired clients. I also love to travel, particularly to the US, and have been to New York, San Francisco, Florida and Alabama.
